The PowerPlane Total Fitness Platform review by Bahram Badri
My name is Bahram Badri I am a Kinesiologist who graduated from Simon Fraser University's department of Biomedical Physiology and Kinesiology. I am certified through American College of Sport Medicine as a Clinical Exercise Specialist and as personal trainer through Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology. In addition I am a British Columbia Recreation and Parks Association Supervisor of Fitness Leaders. I am also certified in common movement disorder in water through Water Art International. I have numerous experience in weight loss at a world renown health spa called The Hills Health and Guest Ranch. I also have obtained vast experience in areas of cardiac rehabilitation, exercise stress testing, personal training, athletic training, athletic rehabilitation, WCB and ICBC rehabilitation, aquatic rehabilitation and falls prevention. I am currently working on my Msc. Biomedical Physiology and Kinesiology.
I acknowledge that the Power Plane Fitness equipment is a very versatile and functional piece of equipment. There is lots of research that confirm that all athletes should do balance training to minimize the risk of injury and improve their performance. In addition, the power plane fitness equipment is great for rehabilitation. One reason is that it provides the user with lots progression levels. As we know progression is the key concept of any exercise program. One example of this progression is the user can use this piece of equipment both sitting and standing which would be of great use in falls prevention. People who are in falls prevention classes they have increased susceptibility to falls. In the falls prevention class we use walking, strengthening exercises and different balance drills to try to improve balance and strength to minimize risk of falls in these population. The power plane fitness equipment would come in very useful because it increases the neuromuscular coordination and the brain muscle connection by stimulating the participant to balance. It also provides a safe environment because the participant could use it while sitting down. Further more it provides progression or regression of certain balance exercises by removal or placement of the support blocks. The power plane fitness equipment also turns into an aerobic step just to note its great versality. This is very useful for the participants of the falls prevention because by using the step we could simulate stair climbing in which a lot of our participants have difficulty to perform the task.
I also acknowledge the value of the power plane fitness equipment in cardiac rehabilitation. It is great cardiovascular machine providing effects similar to a Stairmaster. The power plane fitness equipment could also be turned in to safe and effective resistance training equipment. Recently there have been numerous research indicating that resistance training is an effective tool in reducing hypertension and improve insulin sensitivity which are risk factors for cardiovascular disease. Two of these articles are referenced below:
Effect of 4 weeks of aerobic or resistance exercise training on arterial stiffness, blood flow and blood pressure in pre- and stage-1 hypertensives.Preview By: Collier, S R; Kanaley, J A; Carhart, R; Frechette, V; Tobin, M M; Hall, A K; Luckenbaugh, A N; Fernhall, B. Because the power plane uses resistance bands ranging from 5lb to 150lbs it provides safe resistance training while still stimulating neuromuscular coordination for a very deconditioned cardiac patient. With that said the cardiac patient can improve balance, increase muscular strength and decrease their risk factors for cardiac disease.
Power Plane fitness equipment is a great tool for aquatic rehabilitation. It could be used as a step and an agility tool for patients with common movement disorders such as multiple sclerosis and Parkinson's disease. In the same way it could be used to improve balance and function in these types of population. In addition, through my experience with severely obese population I acknowledge that these people sometimes can not workout in the gym therefore the water would be the best environment for them to work out in. Power Plane fitness equipment can stimulate their priopriception, balance and be versatile tool for their strength training regiment in a safe environment so they can loose weight faster and transfer to land exercise.
The powerplane fitness is a great, versatile and inexpensive tool for all extremes of populations from frail senior to average Joe to a top performer athlete. I give power plane fitness equipment my highest recommendation.
